Torre di Masana was built in 1340, the Castle still preserves the four
original towers. From the highest tower there is a beautiful
panorama of the Po Valley and the Prealps.
Regarding the building, there is an anecdote related to the bishop of
Piacenza, Monsignor Antonio Ranza, who went into hiding in May
1860 so as not to be forced to celebrate solemn religious rites on
the occasion of the visit of Vittorio Emanuele II to Piacenza; the
prelate was taken to Masana under false pretenses to avoid arrest.
Today in Torre Masana it is possible to stay and live an authentic
experience in contact with history and nature.
